Mark Scanlan and Mark Dickey established Garfish restaurants in September 2002, with the opening of the Kirribilli Restaurant. Garfish Crows Nest followed in January 2004, and Garfish Manly the latest addition to the group has just opened in October 2006. Having a long standing history with the food industry in Sydney, they have been working together since 1989 and have owned some well known Sydney restaurants over this time. They established the popular Milsons Restaurant in Kirribilli, and revamped the romantic Jaspers Restaurant in Hunters Hill after selling Cafe Stivelle.
Garfish Restaurants are managed by Executive Chef, Stewart Wallace and Operations Manager, Sarah Molden. Stewart joined the team in August 2004 from Cafe Sydney, and Sarah took over from Jenni Heads in November 2007, coming from Carluccio's in London. Both Sarah and Stewart work hands on in the restaurants, and you will often see them greeting you at the door, or working hard in the kitchen.
Garfish Crows Nest and Garfish Kirribilli are both overseen by Carole Dunn, who is well known for her long history of managing Milsons, and who was recently promoted from the Restaurant Managers position at Garfish Crows Nest to assume responsibility for Garfish Kirribilli aswell. Amanda, her assistant manager, has now sucessfully taken the reins of Crows Nest along side the Head chef, Jeremy Allan.
Garfish Kirribilli also has a new Restaurant Manager, Mark Ennor, who was promoted from the Assistant Managers role at Garfish Manly, he works along side the Heaf chef, Matthew Lightowler.
Garfish Manly is managed by the newest member of the team, Ben Cummings, previoulsy from The Bavarian Beer Cafe, who joins us after two years working overseas in Canada. The Head Chef is Michael Nash.
No matter which restaurant you choose to dine in, whether it be Kirribilli, Crows Nest or Manly, you can be assured that you will receive the same fantastic product, and professional friendly service. You will notice familiar faces, as the staff remain at our restaurants year after year. You will most likely be greeted at Kirribilli with the friendly faces of Mark, Kara or Eliza; and you will no doubt spend an evening being well served by Amanda and Jess at Crows Nest or Bea or Johnny at Manly.
One thing is for sure. There is a great team atmosphere in these restaurants, and the staff really enjoy their jobs! They keep coming back to us too!
Garfish Restaurants are always looking for professional team players. If you think you would fit in well with our team, and would like to apply for any position within the company, please send an e-mail to Sarah Molden at sarah@garfish.com.au and she will be happy to respond!
